Xuangguang Pier is one of the four major piers in Sun Moon Lake, located below Xuanguang Temple in Yuchi Township, Nantou County. It is an important stop for Sun Moon Lake cruise boats, and a necessary point for tourists taking the lake tour. The pier's architecture adopts an imitation Tang Dynasty style, complemented by a plaque with retro fonts, harmonizing with the nearby Xuanguang Temple to create an elegant and ancient atmosphere. The facilities around Xuangguang Pier are well-equipped. Next to the pier is the famous "Grandma's Tea Eggs" stall. The savory and flavorful tea eggs have become a must-try delicacy for tourists, attracting large crowds. The pier is also the starting point of the 850-meter-long Qinglong Mountain Trail. Ascending the stairs will first lead to Xuanguang Temple, and continuing further up will lead to Xuanzang Temple. As many devout followers take boats to Xuangguang Pier to worship at both temples, resembling a religious pilgrimage, it is also known as the "Pilgrimage Trail." Opening Hours: Summer (approximately April to September) 07:00–18:00; Winter (approximately October to March) 08:00–17:00. In case of inclement weather such as typhoons or dense fog, the pier will be temporarily closed, and ferry services will be suspended.
