It is one of the four major piers on Sun Moon Lake. Its superior geographical location, facing east, makes it an excellent spot for watching the sunrise. Due to the influence of local climate, topography, and hydrology, the lake is often shrouded in mist in the early morning. Combined with the reflection of the morning sun, it forms a charming misty sunrise scene, known as "Shuishe Morning Mist," and is listed as one of the eight scenic spots of Sun Moon Lake. Zhaowu Pier is the starting point for the annual "Sun Moon Lake Crossing" event, which spans approximately 3.3 kilometers and ends at Ita Thao Pier. The pier has undergone renovation and upgrades, including the expansion of resting areas and the pier platform, as well as improvements to lighting equipment, providing a more comfortable recreational environment. Opening Hours Summer (approximately April to September): 07:00–18:00 Winter (approximately October to March): 08:00–17:00 The pier will be temporarily closed in case of bad weather such as typhoons or heavy fog, and ferry services will be suspended.
