Songboling is located on the highlands north of the Zhuoshui River and the cliffs of Bagua Mountain, offering an excellent strategic vantage point. Therefore, the Ministry of National Defense established a military stronghold here in the early years to defend the Zhuoshui River and the Changhua Plain. Later, when these more than 20 bases and command posts were no longer needed for defense, 7 of the pillboxes near Shou Tiangong were repurposed and rebuilt into "Qixing Base Park." The once imposing military fortress has transformed into one of the most distinctive attractions in the Bagua Mountain Scenic Area.
