Lishan Village is located on a mountain at an altitude of 1800 meters, belonging to Heping District, Taichung City. It is the most remote village in the city, named for its abundant production of high-quality temperate fruits - pears and apples. Raka was the earliest place name for Lishan. After the retrocession, it was once renamed Taoyuan, and it was also the former name of Slamaw (Lishan). After the East-West Cross-Island Highway opened in 1960, the farm introduced pears and apples, which were widely promoted and cultivated. The village was then renamed Lishan due to the fame of its pears.
