The Chaozhou-style octagonal prism and the "huatai" (nurturing fetus) shape resembling a Grand Tutor's chair behind the temple reveal the Hakka ancestry of the early settlers. Although small, the temple is carved and assembled from six large stones as a single unit, and the design of the rain-washing courtyard is a classic feature of Tudigong temples. This stone Tudigong temple is a testament to why Dingbenzi is also known as "Stone Settlement."
