The stone terraces, with a history of over a century, are located in the Guanghua (Dingbenzi) area of Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, bearing witness to the diligent efforts of the early settlers of Dingbenzi. These terraces were built by early residents for farming on the hillsides. Each terrace's outer perimeter and retaining walls are constructed by stacking natural stones piece by piece, aimed at consolidating the soil, preventing erosion, and providing stable farmland. After a hundred years of weathering, these stone-built terraces remain sturdy, showcasing the wisdom and perseverance of the early settlers. Currently, these terraces are still used by local villagers to cultivate various crops.
