Legend has it that a week before the third day of the third lunar month each year, several 'heavenly silkworms' (moths) fly in to worship, resting on the statues without eating or flying for about a week before departing. This story of 'divine moths' was later reported in the news, causing a sensation. It was later identified as the Atlas moth, possibly attracted by the temple lights and coinciding with the moths' breeding season. The combination of these factors created the miracle of the 'divine moths,' adding a legend to Shouzhen Temple.
