Limei Refuge Trail. The Limei Refuge Trail is located between the Lijia and Shansmei villages in Alishan Township. It is an ancient trail used by the Tsou people for migration. During the Japanese colonial era, it fell into disuse due to the construction of a new Limei Trail. However, after Typhoon Morakot, the Limei Trail was damaged and became unusable. Villagers then proposed to the Forestry Bureau to repair the Limei Refuge Trail, which was reopened in 2013 after a year of renovation. It is a bidirectional trail with two entrances: one is the Shansmei entrance, which must be reached by crossing the Danayigu Suspension Bridge, and the other is the Lijia entrance.
