Chalin Mountain Trail. The Chalin Mountain Trail is 720 meters long. Legend has it that early settlers discovered wild tea trees (native mountain tea) covering the entire mountain, hence the name "Chalin Mountain." It has now been renamed "Xiding Mountain." Chalin Mountain and Eryanping Mountain are collectively known as "Gongtian Dashan.". The Chalin Mountain Trail is 720 meters long. The Chalin Mountain Trail offers close-up views of the beautiful mountain scenery of Eryanping Mountain and the Central Mountain Range, as well as the lifelike Elephant Mountain, a landmark of Xiding, appearing before your eyes. The surrounding lush tea plantations and bamboo forests provide a wide vista, allowing you to overlook the Chianan Plain. Xiding is shrouded in clouds and mist year-round, with ever-changing cloud waterfalls and a pleasant climate. Its agricultural products are of excellent quality. Residents have gradually introduced and cultivated tea varieties such as "Qingxin Oolong" and "Jin Xuan," resulting in tea with a mellow and sweet taste, making it one of the important tea-producing areas in Alishan. In recent years, residents have introduced and cultivated persimmon trees, producing bright orange and delicious fruit. Xiding's unique natural environment is also the largest area for orchid forcing in the country.
