Eighteen Arhats Mountain is acclaimed as the "Little Guilin of Taiwan" and is the most prominent landmark in the Liugui area. Geographically, it belongs to a very special "conglomerate badlands" terrain. As one of Taiwan's three major Huoyanshan-type terrains, the entire Eighteen Arhats Mountain area is composed of thick conglomerate layers. Through years of rainwater erosion and differential erosion, dozens of peaks of various shapes have formed. These peaks are lined up along the Laonong River, appearing like standing Arhats from a distance, hence the name "Eighteen Arhats Mountain." It is a spectacular landscape that must be visited when traveling along Provincial Highway 27A.
