Unable to read and self-taught, he became passionately devoted to painting at the age of fifty. His style is renowned for its mysterious script-like characters, rich colors, and a somewhat mystical aura. His early experiences as a spirit medium, folk beliefs, and life experiences profoundly influenced his artistic spirit, inducing a trance-like state when he painted. His works are filled with lively, divine, and religious imagery. Therefore, his paintings feature images resembling hieroglyphs, along with a familiar sense of folk talismans. His abstract and childlike style, with bold and vibrant colors, attracted attention both domestically and internationally, with then-President Chiang Ching-kuo personally visiting.
