As Shi Yingxiang was skilled in geomancy, he discovered what was rumored to be a "Kirin's Lair" on the southern slope of Pillow Mountain, described as "a lamp hanging on the cliff." He then cleared the brush, brought back a statue of Guanyin from Daxiang Temple to preside over the site, and lived in reclusive cultivation, marking the origin of Biyun Temple as it is known today.
