Welcome to the natural geological classroom – the Nanya Rock Formations Geological Trail, which is also the starting point for geological adventures on the Northeast Coast. Due to the steep terrain of the Nanya coast, sea cliffs and coastal erosion formations are extremely developed. The rock strata in this area belong to the Tapu Formation sandstone, which is hard and not easily eroded. Because the hardness and thickness of the rock layers vary, their resistance and rate of erosion also differ, leading to the formation of uniquely shaped and diverse giant rock landscapes, such as the famous Soft Serve Ice Cream Rock, Bamboo Shoot Rock, and Sea Dog Rock. The patterns on the rock surfaces resemble tree rings, recording the traces of nature's years and vitality. Each angle offers a different perspective, leaving visitors in awe. You can carefully step onto the giant rocks to admire the beautiful scenery where the sea and sky meet, or from a distance, appreciate the juxtaposed, masterfully sculpted rock formations against the vast, boundless azure sea, creating a world-class wonder. You can also use the Nanya Geological Trail to closely examine the beauty of the Nanya strange rocks. The trail runs alongside the sea on one side and the mountain on the other, with a total length of over 300 meters. It is rich in ecological and geological landscapes, with different scenery to be discovered at every step, making it very suitable for both adults and children to explore and enjoy.
