The park was planned and designed by renowned architect Huang Sheng-yuan with the core concept of "emptying the valley to see the sand dunes," integrating local Yilan natural elements to present the landscape of sand dunes and the spatial creation of sand hole architecture. Walking in the park, one side is tranquil rural fields, and the other side is water reflecting the changing weather and the treetops of continuous screw pine trees. Not only does the scenery highlight the beauty of the Zhuangwei Sand Dune Tourist Service Park, but the vast, undulating sand dune landscape before your eyes makes you unconsciously slow down your pace. The park was completed and opened in 2018, with spaces including a visitor center and a sand dune exhibition hall (curated by director Tsai Ming-liang). Additionally, the surrounding area features characteristic beautiful scenery such as Zhuangwei Seaside, bicycle paths, Houpi and Puhou characteristic communities, and Lanyang River Estuary Bird Watching Protected Area. Whether at dawn, sunset, or moonrise, strolling through the park, listening to the sound of the waves, and enjoying the scenery for relaxation are all excellent experiences.
