Reefs line the north and south sides of Honeymoon Bay, with only a small section in the middle consisting of fine, soft sand. Besides its beautiful scenery and suitability for playing in the water and enjoying the views, the bay is vast. Hundreds of meters offshore, the underwater terrain changes dramatically, often causing waves to rise 2 to 3 meters high. These turbulent waters make it a prime spot for water sports and surfing, attracting many extreme sports enthusiasts annually for national surfing competitions.
A 30-minute walk from the trailhead next to Mingshan Temple leads to Ying Shi Jian, a nearby peak at an elevation of 441 meters. From the summit, you can gaze at Guishan Island in the distance and overlook the magnificent bay. The expansive view and beautiful scenery offer another excellent option for sightseeing.
