Jianyu Studio is located at No. 28, Changan Street, Hsinchu City, in an old house. This space embodies the team's deep concern for old house revitalization, cultural heritage, and old city issues since its establishment, breathing new life into the old house through restoration and revitalization efforts. Changan Street, formerly known as 'Houche Road,' was also called 'Herbal Alley' due to its proximity to the City God Temple and the concentration of herbal vendors. During the Japanese colonial era, it witnessed the opening of Hsinchu's first cinema, 'Hsinchu-za,' followed by the emergence of three other theaters: Shinsekai, Shinbutai, and Central Theater, earning Changan Street the nickname 'Movie Street' for a time. Drawing inspiration from the imagery of herbs and cinemas, in June 2023, Jianyu Studio's spatial brand 'Jianyu Herbal Seat' officially opened, becoming a diverse creative space focusing on urban issues, local regeneration, and art and culture. Regular lectures, workshops, and exhibitions are held here, injecting more cultural and educational possibilities into the city. ▶ Experience the City's Stories in Diverse Ways. Here, in addition to visiting the permanent exhibitions, you can also immerse yourself in the rich content of 'Gong Wan Tang,' Hsinchu's independently published local magazine, curated by the team. For example, an exhibition themed around the entertainment culture of Changan Street transports you back to old times, tracing the cultural memories of this street. Here
