I couldn't see the true face of the house; it was overgrown with weeds, and tall, numerous trees, some even growing in front of the main entrance. A few days later, I realized I couldn't possibly complete this massive project on my own. I called home and told my parents the truth, hoping they would come to Matsu to help me renovate the old house! The renovation process was incredibly difficult. Many people asked me why I didn't hire workers. It's because what I was doing was hard for people to understand, even my parents didn't quite grasp why I kept saying how beautiful Furen Village was. They saw me talking to myself, lost in my own imagination, but they would do their best, cooperating with me and supporting me all the way. I believe this is an expression of love. The feelings and persistence throughout this journey are like walking from the village entrance to the old house – there are steps, twists and turns, silvergrass, and flowers. Now the old house has light and warmth, and there are many, many people to thank. Facing the old house, overgrown with weeds and uninhabited, I felt no fear, only a sense of dedication!
