The current Xinmei Street was originally Zhengyi Street; in the Qing Dynasty, it was called Fanliao, a place for drying and repairing sails. We often hear elders say that Xinmei Street is actually the most historically rich street in the city. If you want to learn more about the history of Tainan's Central and Western Districts and some lesser-known stories, come to Tainan B&B "Yi Su." An 84-year-old grandmother will happily tell you all about it. Everyone is welcome! "Yi Su" features buildings from the Japanese colonial era, with a mix of old and new architecture. It's been seventy years, and the structure remains intact in every corner! The entire house is made of cypress wood, including the windows and doors. The terrazzo flooring is exquisitely crafted. It's similar to the Hayashi Department Store in Tainan's Central and Western District, and guests who have stayed at "Yi Su" have all given it a thumbs up. I decided to share the old house's architectural techniques with tourists visiting Tainan. I have maintained and renovated the house to extend its life and allow future generations to witness the pulse of history.
