Turn a corner from Kenting Main Street and wander into a small alley, strolling through the everyday life of the southern country. At the end of the alley, you'll find a breadfruit tree that has been growing here for a century. The scorching sun overhead casts shimmering, warm imprints through the shade. Orange Moon is hidden beneath the shade of this breadfruit tree, subtly extending its arms, inviting you to immerse your holiday in the orange warmth of Kenting.
A Warm Life Adorned with Sunlight
Push open the solid wood door. Perhaps it's because it's nestled in the embrace of the breadfruit tree, but the midsummer sun gently spills onto the orange walls inside. The simple, understated yet textured solid wood space and cement walls highlight the charming sundries on display and the occasional orange touches, like a light, delicate piece of music accompanying you on a warm holiday.
The heartwarming collections and books placed on the staircase are all preserved from "Orange Moon Bookstore," which the owner originally ran in Kenting. On a midsummer afternoon, in the high-ceilinged lobby with its atrium, travelers can pick up a book they like and browse at their leisure.
Orange Moon features a split-level design, with each room occupying a half-floor unit. Every room has a representative color and plant. For instance, passionate red is paired with romantic roses, and serene blue is accompanied by ginger flowers. There are also Pingtung's local plants like *Barringtonia asiatica*, *Pandanus tectorius*, and frangipani, carved using special techniques.
