The exterior of Shou Wa building features a sloped roof, white walls, and uses LOW-E UV-resistant tempered glass, with energy-efficient building design (natural lighting, use of natural light sources, reducing energy consumption (heat pump water heater)) as the main architectural theme. The open living room and dining room, coupled with a transparent wooden staircase and unique Ryukyu driftwood, after simple surface treatment, aim to transform the space into a one-of-a-kind installation. Additionally, the semi-open kitchen serves as a small space for relaxation and drinks, while the recessed small courtyard in the open area on the second floor, along with the natural light from the front courtyard, ensures excellent ventilation and lighting! The inspiration for the name ‘Shou Wa’ comes from the fact that this house is located in the birthplace of the family lineage, ‘Wa Cuo Nei’ (within the tile house). Furthermore, ‘Wa Cuo Nei’ is the first traditional three-section house built with tiles in Xiao Liuqiu, hence the name Shou Wa Design Homestay, to express gratitude and remembrance for the hard work of our ancestors. ‘We only host one group of travelers per day, aiming to provide an exclusive and leisurely accommodation experience in the entire Shou Wa building.’
