The retreat covers an area of 7500 ping. It was formerly the second-largest timber distribution center and sawmill in the Shuili area during the 1950s and 1960s. After the 921 earthquake, it was purchased by the renowned local Dr. Yang, who renovated it and extensively transplanted "Taiwanese Five-Needle Pines," resulting in its beautiful appearance today after many years. The "Zen & Pine" park includes "Zen Garden B&B" and "Pine Garden B&B," holding two legal licenses: No. 260 for "Pine Garden B&B" and No. 279 for "Zen Garden B&B." Currently, the management team operates them jointly as "Zen & Pine" Leisure & Wellness Retreat. "Zen Garden" features Japanese-style architecture with red tiles and white walls, serving as the retreat's reception hall. "Pine Garden" is a wooden house built with Taiwanese red cypress, complemented by hexagonal red floor tiles, exuding a strong Japanese nostalgic atmosphere. Here, you can slow down, immerse yourself in the five-needle pine forest and vast green lawns, and feel the cool breeze, the gentle sway of the pine trees, and the chirping of birds and insects. Nearby, there are several famous tourist attractions, such as "Nantou Jiji," which is only a 15-minute drive away.
