A long, narrow plot on the western edge of the Lanyang Plain excites our imagination to create architectural spaces with panoramic views of the vast Lanyang Plain and the lakeside mountain scenery. Thus, the relationship between the house's orientation on the plot and nature becomes inseparable. Sunlight, sky, mountains, and water are the driving forces behind our architectural creation, as we continuously attempt to inspire a beautiful harmony between these natural elements and the design of the architectural space. Windows on each facade allow light to flow through different spaces, and the design of skylights allows light to pour in freely, whether it's observing the blue sky and drifting white clouds during the day, or looking up at the stars in the night sky, or listening to the pitter-patter of rain on a rainy day. We hope to enable people to continuously converse with nature within this architectural space. The exterior of the building is designed like a ship, incorporating the local lakeside concept of 'a boat entering a large lake, with mountains as a barrier.' Rough stone slabs, shale, and white exterior walls extend into the high-ceilinged living room indoors. Solid wood handrails and steps, dark gray tiles in the public areas, and exposed concrete and cultural stone walls create a sense of mystery and tranquility. We hope that throughout the architectural space, whether walking or touching, one can feel the gift from nature and experience the comfort and freedom as if in the great outdoors.
