Its spring water is a unique [Sulfate Chloride Spring] in Taiwan. The spring erupts at 66 degrees Celsius with abundant water, flowing along the creek for three hundred meters. In the early days, residents often dug pits to bathe outdoors, adding a rustic charm. 'Antong Soaking in Warmth' was listed as one of the eight scenic spots of Hualien. During the Japanese colonial period (Showa 5, 1930), the Japanese government built a Japanese-style wooden house entirely of Hinoki cypress as a guesthouse for the Japanese police department, which also served as the Governor-General's residence. After the retrocession, it was taken over by the Yuli Township Office but remained undeveloped due to lack of funds. In 1973, the government sold it to private management, and it is now the Antong Hot Spring Hotel. The Japanese-style wooden house is currently a historical building open for visitors to Antong Hot Spring. Antong Hot Spring is located on the Yuchang Highway between the East Rift Valley and the Coastal Mountain Range, boasting a beautiful environment of green mountains and clear waters. The scenery is captivating, with lush green mountains stretching as far as the eye can see, changing with the time of day.
