A large iron hook, once used to transport rice up and down, can still be seen at the top of the indoor courtyard. The hostel is adjacent to three national historic sites: Chihkan Tower, Grand Temple of Confucius, and Grand Matsu Temple. It is also close to many Tainan delicacies, such as Cai San Mao Pig Blood Soup, Charcoal Grilled Sandwich, Yifeng Winter Melon Tea, Wu Temple Meatballs, Tainan Danzai Noodles, Coffin Bread, Anping Tofu Pudding, Yue Jin Savory Porridge, and Yucheng Ice Shop, as well as various snacks on Guohua Street within walking distance. The hostel features murals of traditional Taiwanese folk activities, hand-painted by master artists, including "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea," "Song Jiang Battle Array," "Jumping Drum Formation," "Che Gu Formation," "Yak Formation," and "Peach Blossom Crossing," all vividly depicted with accompanying text descriptions, allowing travelers to deeply understand and experience Taiwan's rich folk culture. The hostel is situated within the Chihkan Cultural Park, south of Chihkan Tower and next to the Grand Temple of Confucius, adjacent to the "Ma Shi Ye Hall." It is close to three national historic sites, including Chihkan Tower, which was specially recommended by The Washington Post's travel section; the Grand Temple of Confucius, rebuilt from the Guan Di Hall of the Ming Dynasty's Prince Ningjing; and the Grand Matsu Temple, the former residence of the Ming Dynasty's Prince Ningjing.
