Shuiche Pavilion Introduction "Origin ~ The proprietress was born in a small place called Shuiche near Zhushan Township. Because the proprietress left here to live in Taichung before starting elementary school, she experienced work, marriage, and raising a family. After retirement, she longed to return to her birthplace to build a house. It would serve as a place for her children's families, who live in cities across northern, central, and southern Taiwan, to have a home and a gathering place. By chance, she returned to her hometown of Shuiche, Zhushan, bought this land, and began to realize her dream house. When she was young, the proprietress traveled to Europe and deeply loved the style of European architecture. Therefore, the main body of the house has a European architectural feel, with a super-high main hall and stained-glass designs, all discussed and designed by the proprietress and her eldest son, who studied civil engineering and architecture. Five suites were designed at the back of the house for family gatherings and overnight stays. It can also be used as a bed and breakfast during normal times, hence the name Shuiche Pavilion. A large stone discovered during the initial construction and land leveling was placed by the main entrance and inscribed with text as a marker for the guesthouse. The outdoors is covered with lush and comfortable Taipei grass, with pine, cypress, cherry, maple, and ginkgo trees planted by the proprietress on both sides. In the backyard lawn, a hand-operated water pump from her childhood was built, full of childlike fun.
