South Shore Mountain. Chi. The entire concept must begin with architecture. Bibo Fei, a project I collaborated on with Yuan-Gen Architecture in Anping in 2004, was my and architect Wu Wu-yi's practical exploration of architecture. The entire concept must begin with architecture. In 2004, I collaborated with Yuan Gen Architecture on "Bibo Fei" in Anping. This marked the beginning of my architectural practice with architect Wu Wu-yi. What was truly significant, however, was witnessing a group of people's almost obsessive dedication to realizing ideals from words and drawings within the traditional construction system, thereby restarting a new model for residential living. Their efforts were constantly moving in unexpected ways.
So, my family and I made a wish: to allow more people to experience this wonderful thing. Therefore, with architect Wu-yi's reluctant blessing, we took over Yuan Gen Architecture Workshop's "Share House" in Anping, which was completed in 2015 after "Bibo Fei" and "Tian Tian Rong Hai Se." As a bed and breakfast, it continues the sharing spirit of "Share House," allowing more travelers to enjoy all that Tainan has to offer, while also experiencing a new era of townhouse design. It offers the rare quality of a small home with a front and back yard, and a night sky exclusively for oneself.
It began with the inspiration of a home, and it operates as a bed and breakfast, but ultimately, it's about allowing us and our children to truly experience the house we live in every day, and to discover how many possibilities await us, especially the natural re-encounter with breezes and light.
