HOTEL YAM's name can be traced back to the history of the Yancheng District. After the completion of Kaohsiung Port in 1908, Yancheng became the most prosperous area in Kaohsiung. As times changed, it has now transformed into Kaohsiung City's old town, where culture and long-standing local shops remain steadfast, and even local Kaohsiung residents love the taste of Yancheng. Therefore, the hotel adopted the Taiwanese pronunciation of "塩" (yam), which also happens to be the English word for "yam" (sweet potato), symbolizing the land of Taiwan. We welcome people from Taiwan and abroad to settle here and explore Kaohsiung's Yancheng together. In October 2020, HOTEL YAM officially partnered with the Lagom brand, embarking on a new journey as HOTEL YAM LAGOM. What remains unchanged is the original aspiration to share the charm of old Yancheng, but now with even more comfortable and relaxed service to host every life explorer.
