Echoes of Old City Memories, A Fated Stay – Stroll Through Time Beside Chiayi City Hall, Reliving the Charm of Bygone Eras in Chiayi, Where an Enduring Elegance Defies Time. As the humble proprietor of this homestay, I often find myself seated on the old wooden chair by the entrance, watching the setting sun cast its golden rays upon the red brick old house, as if I can hear the footsteps of the past, telling stories of the city. This homestay is located near the Chiayi City Hall. During the Japanese colonial era, this area was the administrative heart, and it still retains a rich historical atmosphere today. A Qing Dynasty Fujian-style ancient house hidden at the city's corner. What many travelers don't expect is that behind our homestay, a Fujian-style ancient house from the Qing Dynasty quietly lies hidden. With its bluestone brick walls and swallowtail-shaped roof ridges, it is serene and poetic. This ancient house is over a hundred years old and was the former residence of a prominent local family, witnessing Chiayi's early immigration, land reclamation, and settlement formation. Afternoon sunlight bathes the roof tiles, and light filters through the carved window lattices, like gentle brushstrokes left by time specifically for this space. Many guests enjoy sitting on the small stone steps in front of the ancient house, sipping tea and chatting, as if they are momentarily sharing the space with people from a past dynasty. A four-minute walk to the lively and bustling atmosphere. From the homestay, it's just a four-minute walk to the "Fountain Circle" and Wenhua Road Night Market, which are most familiar to the people of Chiayi. In the evening
