In the past, in an agricultural society, pastries served the function of filling stomachs and were also a good snack for the elderly without teeth. Our chefs have adjusted the recipe to make them more natural and healthy. Therefore, we have inherited the elements of pastries and Beigang Chaotian Temple and combined them to open this shop, hoping to add another highlight to Beigang, a place to rest, enjoy free tea, buy souvenirs, and dine. Beigang receives 6.5 million visitors annually, all driven by Beigang Chaotian Temple. Hou De Cheng Canteen integrates the religious and cultural elements of Beigang into its architecture. For example, the incense master's lamp from Chaotian Temple and the uniforms worn during the Mazu pilgrimage's sedan chair procession are displayed in our building after their term ends. Therefore, in addition to Beigang's characteristic pastries and packaging rich in temple culture, many religious and cultural items and imagery are also incorporated into the architecture, allowing more people to experience the rich culture of Beigang Chaotian Temple.
