Bayi Workshop. This mountain studio, nestled amidst clouds and mist, bears a beautiful name, "Bayi." "Bayi" is the intimate Paiwan term for "woman," holding within it. This mountain studio, nestled amidst clouds and mist, bears a beautiful name, "Pai-i." "Pai-i" is an intimate term used by the Paiwan people for "women," carrying the meaning of "dear ones." This is a women's workshop established after Typhoon Morakot, dedicated to crafting traditional Paiwan glass beads. Typhoon Morakot not only devastated Jialan's livelihood but also its culture. Feeling that tribal culture was being lost due to the typhoon, the women established the "Jialan Pai-i Workshop" in the Jialan community to revitalize tribal industries. Thus, a group of mothers living in the community began creating handmade glass beads. They established a creative platform akin to a workstation, and under the guidance of Wu Shu-lun, who has long researched Paiwan culture, they began to engage with the cultural creativity of glass bead workshops and initiated research into product design.
