Instead, it's made in the most traditional way, as the simplest flavors are often the most enduring. The wall displays summer ice treats. Unfortunately, it was a sunny winter day when #EditorChen visited, otherwise, I would have definitely tried a bowl of the impressively named #RogueIce (Durian + Mango). The old-fashioned pickled plum ice is made with preserved plums similar to those in plum wine. Biting into the crisp pickled plum flesh, it's not as salty as expected, but rather sweet and sour. All the shaved ice toppings in the shop are prepared by the owner himself, including the syrup. You definitely won't feel thirsty after eating. Whether in the hot summer or cold winter, if you have the chance to pass through Hsinchu during the Lunar New Year, be sure to come and savor a bowl of nostalgic old-fashioned shaved ice.
