The dining environment inside is a bit retro, with mottled walls and a yellowed, faded refrigerator. However, this noodle shop, which has been open for over 70 years, is a testament to the history of the military dependents' village before its relocation. Many Hsinchu locals have grown up eating here. Even outside of meal times, the entrance is often crowded with parked cars; people come for the nostalgia. The braised dishes are sold by weight, as they are not priced. You can also ask the owner to help you round up the price. Because they are braised to perfection and paired with chili sauce, they are truly unbeatable. The 'Three Treasures Dry Noodles' consist of dry noodles with pickled mustard greens, preserved mustard greens, and minced meat sauce. The portion size is quite generous. The preserved mustard greens and shredded pork noodles have a lighter flavor, and the light soup noodles paired with the very salty and flavorful preserved mustard greens are exceptional! The dumplings are filled with chives. The wrappers have a firm texture, and the meat is fresh and sweet. For those who often eat heavy-flavored food, adding a bit of soy sauce makes them perfect.
