Sip a cup of heart-to-heart tea. In an era of ever-increasing bubble tea shops, most people prefer quick, convenient takeaway drinks, often forgetting one fact: a good cup of tea needs time to brew. Fan Yizhen of Man Guan Tea Garden is well aware of this fact, which is why she opened Man Guan Tea Garden on Wenhua Road in 2014, specifically to brew and serve her own teas to customers. Yizhen says that drinking tea requires a platform for face-to-face communication. She must guide customers through the complete tea brewing process to help them understand the aroma, taste, and characteristics of each tea in the shop. For example, the natural fruity aroma of Honey Scent Oolong subtly carries a delicate honey fragrance, while the rich liquor of Qingxin Oolong becomes like fresh, smooth spring water after entering the mouth. How the same tea leaves change their flavor with the seasons and climate each year requires the time of several pots of tea to slowly tell customers these stories. Therefore, a group of customers often requires over an hour of service, but Yizhen enjoys it. She says that the time spent serving customers has become the greatest reward since opening her shop. Man Guan Tea Garden's tea leaves do not pursue fancy packaging; they only insist that every step, from self-cultivation, harvesting, roasting, production, packaging, to sales, is handled by themselves.
