Infusion Cake & Tea. For Infusion Cake & Tea's owner, Chang Chia-hung, the biggest challenge is when I ask him to point out the most recommended dish in the store. For Infusion Cake & Tea's owner, Chang Chia-hung, the biggest challenge is when I ask him to point out the most recommended dish in the store. After 7 years of traveling in other cities, Chia-hung returned to Chiayi City in 2016 and opened Infusion Cake & Tea on a small street known as "Mei Street" with his acquaintance, pastry chef Lai Yi-han. The storefront features a large floor-to-ceiling glass window, interwoven with white mullions like a picture frame, dividing the scenery inside into warm and tranquil paintings. Stepping into this world of art, a comfortable atmosphere and music meander through the space, naturally drawing every guest into an indispensable corner of the artwork. Each French pastry displayed in the bar's dessert case is developed and created by Yi-han, combining her study experience in France with various life inspirations. It takes one to two months for each creation. Yi-han pours her persistent spirit from learning music and the determination of "grinding an iron rod into a needle" into her pastry creations, thus each of her desserts possesses rich and diverse aesthetic layers. To complement different desserts, Chia-hung at the bar recommends different single-origin teas. From the selection of tea leaves to brewing and serving it to the customer, every step of the in-store tea service is overseen by Chia-hung.
