The owners of 'CouCou Cafe Pâtisserie,' Kai-An Zhu and Cheng-An Lin, have harbored dreams of opening a shop since childhood, waiting for the day to fulfill them. Kai-An Zhu, a former third mate in Evergreen Marine Corporation, became curious about coffee through the hand-drip coffee made by the chief mate on the same ship. Coffee became his sole solace during his monotonous life at sea, leading him to abandon his high-paying, stable job, leave the ocean, and resolutely dive into the coffee business, where he met Cheng-An Lin by chance. Cheng-An Lin's interest in making desserts began to blossom during her university years. As a visual communication design major, she taught herself pastry-making as a way to de-stress, which also sparked the idea of studying in France. She then began actively planning and preparing: taking French electives, apprenticing in a pastry kitchen, and taking English proficiency exams. After five years of hard work, she finally achieved her goal. Cheng-An Lin, who loves food and travel, toured all of Europe during her studies in France. The taste memories from her travels have now become the inspiration for her dessert creations, with every item in the shop being a delectable masterpiece.
