Fouette Patisserie. A Sweet Feast in a Yellow House. Fú Tián, nestled on Zhongshan Road, is a vibrant yellow building that shimmers under the sun, as sweet as a lucky charm. A Sweet Feast in the Yellow House
Located on Zhongshan Road, Fùtián is a bright yellow building that sparkles under the sun, as sweet and delightful as the desserts it serves. Its exterior alone is enough to catch the eye. This century-old house, with its Southern French charm, has been given a new lease on life by Fùtián.
The young manager, Mr. Feng, appears a little shy but speaks with great enthusiasm, eagerly sharing the story of how seven good friends came together to realize their dream and open this shop. The idea originated from a classmate who specialized in French pastries, having studied in Europe and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in Asia. Coupled with their shared desire to create richer stories in their hometown of Chiayi, Fùtián was officially born in 2013.
The first floor boasts a designer aesthetic, with vintage furniture collected from various places cleverly integrated to create Fùtián's exquisite yet comfortable atmosphere. Sitting on the sofa, enjoying a dessert, and admiring the hand-painted walls, the playful graffiti awakened my long-lost childlike wonder, enhancing the flavor of the sweets.
Ascending the spiral staircase to the second floor, I was greeted by an attic straight out of a foreign film—a secret hideaway we all dreamed of as children, faithfully recreated at Fùtián. This whimsical and creative design immediately captivated me.
