Yu Jan Shin's pastries have no secret recipe; what we have is a heart that cares for our customers and a dedication to quality ingredients. To meet the needs of devotees visiting the Dajia Mazu Temple and local residents who observe a vegetarian diet, Yu Jan Shin replaced traditional lard shortbread with a recipe using natural butter. This not only led to the creation of today's famous "Butter Shortbread" but also earned Yu Jan Shin the reputation as the home of butter shortbread.
