Passed down to the fourth generation, Wu Liyuan enlarged the zongzi to be much larger than usual, making it well-known in the snack street of Tainan. Zai Fa Hao's Eight Treasure Zongzi includes scallops, shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, dried flatfish flakes, braised pork, chestnuts, salted egg yolk, and lean pork. It is wrapped in three layers of bamboo leaves, with the outer two layers being raw Guizhu leaves and the inner layer being boiled bamboo leaves, each weighing about twelve liang. The shop emphasizes that the deliciousness of the zongzi is enhanced by drizzling it with meat sauce. The luxurious filling of the Eight Treasure Zongzi, combined with carefully selected long-grain glutinous rice and the triple wrapping of zongzi leaves, creates a perfect harmony of delicious sweetness and meat sauce.
