Turn right at the 4km mark of Provincial Highway No. 27 onto County Highway No. 133. Bulao (meaning ageless) gets its name from the hot springs. It originated from the fact that the stream here remained warm year-round. Early settlers diverted the hot spring water for washing and called the stream "Hot Water Stream." Later, villagers discovered that washing made their skin smooth and youthful, like returning to childhood, and thus named the stream "Bulao Stream." Early hot spring operators built simple wooden structures and channeled the hot spring water for visitors to bathe and stay, naming it "Bulao Hot Spring." Since then, "Bulao Hot Spring" has become famous, and it is the most historic and renowned tourist destination in the Liugui District. Bulao Hot Spring originates from the valley of the Bulao Stream, a tributary of the Laonong Stream. It is a weakly alkaline sodium bicarbonate spring, with a temperature of approximately 44-45 degrees Celsius and a pH of about 7.7. It contains 1460 ppm of bicarbonate ions and about 593 ppm of sodium ions. The water is clear, colorless, and odorless, rich in minerals. Soaking in the hot springs can relax the body and mind. The warm spring water stimulates sensory nerves, accelerates metabolism, and soothes muscle pain, improving physical mobility. You can also visit nearby trails such as Bulao and Meilun Mountain for exercise.
