Donan (ku nga da vane) village is the deepest village in Maolin Township, located south of the Zhuoquan River, a small tributary of the Zhuokou River, about 3 kilometers north of Jingda Mountain (1678 meters) on a southward-sloping terrace at an altitude of about 550 meters. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, with fertile soil, it is the largest Rukai settlement in the township. Yishan Mu Coffee House was built in 2007, using local building materials – stone slabs as the main structure, combined with logs and Rukai artworks. The spacious stone slab courtyard creates a coffee house atmosphere different from the city. The owners, Isamu and his wife, were introduced to coffee more than ten years ago. In the last five years, they have been processing old coffee trees planted more than twenty years ago on family land. Coupled with years of coffee studies, they have accumulated considerable coffee knowledge and have become the go-to people for coffee inquiries in Donan village.
