Wu Chen Jinmang was originally a housewife. Seeing the large number of children, to alleviate the family's economic burden, she started a stall at the plaza of Nankunshan Daitian Temple Wanshan Hall to sell wine snails. In the 1980s, because Nankunshan Daitian Temple built a stall area in front of Wanshan Hall, she moved to sell under the stone lions in front of the main archway. In 2015, because the temple did not allow vendors to set up stalls within the temple grounds, she moved south to sell by the roadside south of the traffic light at the entrance. The process of making a small wine snail is very laborious. The snails are bought, cleaned, and those of poor quality and impurities are removed. The tail of each shell is cut off, then washed and blanched for later use. Oil is heated in a large pot, garlic is sautéed until fragrant, then satay sauce, chili, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, salt, basil, and other seasonings are stir-fried until hot.
